Case Study: Anna Independent School District

Anna Independent School District in Anna, TX recently built a new indoor training facility and needed to furnish the new athletic training room as well as adding additional equipment to their gym, stadium, and baseball/softball/tennis sports complex. Anna ISD Head Athletic Trainer, Mary Lynn Miller, ATC, LAT talks about her program's needs and challenges and discusses the products and features of what the Coyotes purchased from The Athletic Edge.

According to WRA Architects, "The Anna Multi-Purpose Activity Center (MAC) will act as a catalyst for training and preparation for all athletic and fine art activities at Anna High School." The 61,300 square foot facility houses a sixty-yard field with an end-zone allowing for endless opportunities including multiple support spaces such as a 4,000 square foot weight room, multi-purpose room, coaching offices, and locker rooms. The activity center will provide room to expand for the growing district and will create more opportunities for students to develop their skills. 

According to Mary Lynn Miller, ATC, LAT, “With the addition of our new indoor athletic facility later this fall, we chose Athletic Edge equipment for our new tables and taping station. We are currently using them in our main training room until the Indoor is completed, and they have been a tremendous upgrade from the tables we had before. We will have some size limitations once we move to the new facility, so we will be selective with what equipment will go in there. The drawers and cabinets on the tables and taping station will tremendously help to maximize storage without having to add in more cabinets, thus losing the little space we will have."

"I also added new hydration carts for our gym and outdoor sports complex to update the old carts that were being used, and added a new SmartCart for our gym and stadium for a more updated look and easy access to all our supplies when needed."

Q: How does your new athletic training room equipment meet the needs of your team and athletic trainers?

A: The new treatment tables and taping station have been a fantastic addition to our training room. Lots of extra storage, both locking and open for all kinds of various supplies and equipment. Our athletes love the new tables with the moveable seat backs and adjustable legs. I love how they look and how I can have everything right where I need it.

Q: What is your favorite Athletic Edge product and why?

A: It is hard to pick just one thing, as they all serve a great purpose, but if I had to choose, I would say the SmartCarts. I love all the storage they provide, the ease of mobility, and how sharp they look on the field and in the gym.

Q: Which Athletic Edge product features are the most valuable to you and your team?

A: Being able to adjust the treatment table backs and legs and the storage are the two best features on all the items. From the spacious SmartCart drawers and shelves, to the hydration cart storage, we can always have all our supplies on hand and easily accessible. We travel with one of our hydration carts and have been able to consolidate all our cups, powder, stir stick, 10-gallon cooler, and cleaning supplies inside the cart. This has eliminated us having to pack all those items in a separate tub.

Q: Why did you decide to work with The Athletic Edge?

A: I ordered Athletic Edge tables and equipment at the last school district I was at and really liked all the features, ease of use, and ability to customize all of it with our school colors and logo.
